Carmeuse Lime & Stone, the largest producer of lime and limestone products in North America, has selected Baker Communications to provide Influencing Skills training workshops for its process engineers. The company was seeking a knowledgeable, client-oriented training partner who could help their process engineers learn to construct and deliver effective and persuasive presentations and other communications. Upon reviewing Baker’s curriculum they were intrigued by the four-type behavior model used in the course as a guideline for effective, targeted communications that focus on meeting the needs and interests of the audience. Carmeuse signed up with Baker in the belief that the Influencing Skills course would provide their process engineers with the skills to communicate more effectively and persuasively.
Senior-Level Instructors and Presentations Experts from Baker Communications will meet with Carmeuse’s process engineers to deliver the workshops. During these highly interactive training events, participants will gain experience using fundamental presentation tools such as the ASIA Opening (Audience, Idea, Solution, and Action Request) introductory format to quickly catch the interest of the audience. They will learn and practice advanced public speaking techniques and refine their control of vocal tone, pitch, and gestures, to keep their presentations lively and engaging, and how to identify the likely behavioral styles making up their audience to enable them to present more persuasively and effectively address the needs and interests of their listeners.
